Alberta passes second version of "The Mentally Disordered Act"

April 25, 1968. The Mental Health Amendment Act is made in Alberta, Canada, modifying the original definition of a "mentally disordered" person. The amendment stipulates that "a person shall not be dealt with under this Act as a mentally disordered person because of promiscuity or other immoral conduct."

The original Act was passed in 1964. Further amendments were made in 1972, and 1988.
