December, 1927. The Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) publishes an editorial (17:1526-1528) promoting eugenics for the sake of the unborn future generations of Canadian children. This article is a good example of Canada's engagement in the scientific community on eugenic grounds in the early 20th century.
The article closes with this sentiment:
"The facts of inheritance are indisputable; why not let us endeavor to use that portion of our heritage which will promote the future well-being of the race, and discard that which leaves behind those who have bitter reason to regret the day that they were born!"
The editorial also praises the CMAJ for providing articles related to eugenics to physicians and students, who might not have time otherwise to research these subjects on their own.
