December 1, 1923. “High Time for the Men to Act” was an article written by Mrs. M. L. Sears, the President of the United Farm Women of Alberta (U.F.W.A.) published in The United Farmers of Alberta. Sears describes the new activities and responsibilities women have taken on the farm and believed that the men needed to recognize the hardships of their organizations (the U.F.A. and U.F.W.A.) and support the causes of the U.F.W.A. at the Women’s Convention, held January 1924. One of the causes was that of a resolution regarding sterilization, which was passed at a previous Women’s Convention. Sears advocated for the men’s support in their attitude toward sterilization.
